BCCM NGO Election Date Extended   arrow

Dear All,

As you know BCCM Oversight Committee is responsible to complete BCCM membership renewal and make decision on this issue on behalf of BCCM. BCCM Oversight Committee meeting held today at MOHFW conference room. Ms Roxana Quader, Additional Secretary (PH & WHO), MOHFW and Chair- BCCM Oversight Committee was chaired the meeting.

Threadbare discussion held on update of BCCM membership renewal and CSO constituencies’ elections. All the constituencies’ election will be conducted according to previous update except NGO Constituency. Because most of the NGO Constituency candidates who submitted candidature application are with Conflict of Interest (COI). According the GF guidelines of NGO membership in CCM and Eligibility Criteria, CCM can accept one member with COI among four membership seats in NGO Constituency. There is possibility to get elected more than one member with COI.  The candidate list in tables below:

Another candidate submitted his candidature application with his CV named Mostofa Kamal from Rangamati Hill District Council. But he didn’t submit required documents. He also didn’t mention the category of NGO from where he wants to compete in his registration form.

To avoid minimum COI according GF Eligibility criteria and guidelines, NGO Constituency needs more membership candidates in all four categories of NGOs (TB, HIV, Malaria and Women & Children). So that BCCM Oversight Committee and Election Commission can peak one member and alternate with COI among the candidates with COI who will get highest vote and other three members and alternate without COI from candidate.  Finally Oversight Committee decided in today’s meeting about NGO Constituency election that voter and candidate registration and application submission date will be extended till 25 October 2016 and election will be conducted on 3rd November 2016.  Voter list circulation and candidate list circulation date also be extended accordingly. Details election schedule is available with attached criteria.

his is for your kind information. You all are requested to circulate this information among the NGO Constituency members, NGOs and stakeholders.
